The world of the Walking Dead seems like such a horrible place; I wanted to think that occasionally a beautiful day can present itself.
This piece offered the opportunity for a lot of fun detail with the blood splatter on her skin, clothes, sword and grass. I added the birds and leaves to help convey the sense of a lovely afternoon, even though her sword is covered in blood... hmmm.
I am a Gryffindor that dreams of being a Slytherin. By Year 7 I am DEFINITELY on a first name basis with Dumbledor. I mean, I am ALWAYS in trouble without question.
This piece was a gift I did for a very special girl who plays World of WarCraft. Her character is holding a little Night Elf doll. I was amazed how detailed these characters are, and transferring that level of detail to my style was quite a unique challenge.
The small scar on her forehead and wear and tear on her armor are little details that I love spending time on. Creating a doll version of an imposing Night Elf was great fun.
When originally doing the pencil work for this piece I had forgotten the quiver. It doesn't appear on her in-game model, so I enjoyed creating my own design. I also hadn't planned on making her arrows so detailed, but I'm a sucker for detail.
This piece was done as a background layer for the Night Elf Huntress. Shadowmoon Valley is a location that's covered in a blanket of eternal night. I'm currently working on bringing the two pieces together.
This illustration was done for a friend. What I originally planned to be a full body drawing ended up being what you see here. It perfectly captures her spirit.
This illustration was inspired by the game Limbo. The challenge was creating something sweet in such a dark and morbid world. As dreary as this piece is, it holds a special place in my heart.
I knew that to accurately capture the dark and lifeless feel of this world, I'd have to lean a bit heavier on Photoshop effects than I normally do with my style.
Ahh, the world of Middle Earth, such a fun playground. I really wanted to focus on selling JUST how windy it would be atop this cliff.
Inspired from an original piece by my friend Bianca Olson. Her work is dark, twisted and very cool. Her characters have these stitched up cheeks and elongated bone arms. My take on her character added a lot of cosmetic changes while keeping the core creepiness intact.
She's creepy and she's spooky.
Talk about a rush job! The funny thing? The party ended up being canceled at the last minute. Awesome.
I wanted to capture her lighthearted spirit in her kimono's design. The overly long sleeves and giant bow on the backside contribute to giving her a sense of innocence, not to mention the pinwheel.
Sadly a piece that fell short of the finish line, but still proud of the work done.
This is a revised piece from a few years ago. The concept behind this card was that I was handing out Santa hats to several anime / video game characters.
This was an illustration of myself that was to be the cover of a Birthday Card. The premise, much like the Christmas Card cover, was that I had gathered several anime characters to attend the party.
Here's just a small preview of the color work currently being done on the 'Boba Birthday!' piece.
Let it be known, there will be no happiness in the land of Hyrule while Gannon sits upon his throne.
This is about as CLOSE to ‘life drawing’ as you’re going to get on this website I think. Yeeeaaah…
This-is-HALLOWEEN.
Hundreds of years in the future, the city of Los Angeles becomes quite advanced before the citizens mysteriously vanished and vegetation took back the city.
Humans disappeared over 50 years ago and vegetation has started to take back the city. In this alternate timeline the twin towers are still standing.
This was a pre-production concept that was going to be used in an animated short. The idea was that the flow of time was being distorted and that was having a turbulent affect on the sun.
A graphic design piece inspired by the logo of Final Fantasy VII.
